You tried to turn on your air conditioner, but the condenser outside didn't turn on? This can be frustrating because it usually happens when you need it most. I'm sorry to say though, that no matter the problem, it will require a professional to take care of it. Hopefully the problem is just a bad fuse, contactor or capacitor, maybe a condensate line backed up and tripped the safety switch. If these don't solve the problem, it can be a much worse issue, such as an issue with the compressor or lack of refrigerant. Whatever it may be, we can figure it out and give you the best solution.
There are a few reasons why your thermostat may be blank. Either it's not getting power or the thermostat is broken. There is an easy check that you can do yourself, pull the thermostat face off and replace the batteries. If that doesn't solve your problem, then either the thermostat is not operating correctly and needs to be replaced or the furnace or air handler is not sending power to the thermostat, in which case it is advised to contact us to come diagnose the problem.
Is your heater not heating your home? A common issue we see, is the " Pressure switch" that proves the induced draft motor is functioning, is not working properly. this is a relatively cheap repair. Another issue could be that the system is over heating due to an issue with the blower or air restriction.
You turned your heating and air system off, but the fan kept running? The most common reason why this happens is that the circuit board has malfunctioned, the blower fan relay in particular. Other than that, the furnace may go into a safety mode and turn the fan on in order to protect the furnace.
Your ac system doesn't seem to keep up like it used to on these summer days? First thing you can check is your filter. Replace the filter every 3 months to make sure your system is moving the correct amount of air. Most likely however is that your system is low on refrigerant and needs to be checked by us.
You may have lost air flow to one of your bedrooms because the system isn't blowing as much air as it used to, there is a restriction or maybe there is a leak in your ducting system. First thing to check is your filter. If that is fine, then most likely there is an issue with your ducting system. We can inspect the ductwork for breaks and tears, kinks and while we are at it we can assess how efficient your system is operating and any other concerns.
Water is leaking outside of your house because the condensation is draining out your "secondary drain line". This is happening because for some reason, the "primary drain line" is backed up and not draining properly. Most of the time, there is a clog in either the "p trap" next to the indoor unit, or possibly the "p trap" at the sink that is being used as a drain site. If you can find where the line is draining to, you can check that "p trap" and clean it out. If you aren't able to handle it yourself, we are always here to assist you and get it operating properly again.
There are a couple reasons why your furnace can be putting off a weird smell. If its a relatively new furnace, it may still be burning off residual oil from the manufacturing process. The other reason would be that your furnace is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Once it is clean, we can address the causes as to why it has gotten dirty.
